OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD SHOEBOXESNow is a good time to pick up some supplies for your Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes.   With the low prices for back to school on crayons, note books, pens, whatever you want to include.  If you want to pick up extra, that is wonderful.  As we do a packing party to fill shoeboxes with goods purchased during the year.  We love any donations to help fill boxes.  Also, be checking out the Mark downs for great deals.  We have found silly toys marked as low as .10 cents that can go into a shoebox.  These shoeboxes are a way to show God’s love to a child that feels lost and alone.  Not only does the child get a shoebox, but they get love and hope.  This shoebox is the opportunity for others to let the children know about Jesus.  Many of these children in turn teach their families about Jesus.  Many accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior.  What an impact you can make on lives with a simple shoebox. Michelle has included a link to Samaritans purse for helpful tips, stories, and further in depth information about OCC. (Operation Christmas Child 2018 Special Report https://sampur.se/2Gb4UXVIf you have any questions please feel free to contact Michelle Osterhuber.  Michelle also store the extra goods for the shoeboxes until we pack them in November.

SONSHINE COMMUNITY TABLE: We have had consistent numbers at the Sonshine Community Table over the past year(s), which is a blessing, but with Fall here and Winter fast approaching we find that we need many more helpers. Do you have an hour and a half  of time to spare on every other Monday night?  Two teams that rotate every other week are compiled of 35+ volunteers to shop, prepare, cook, set up, serve and clean.  If you are interested in helping out on a regular basis or as needed, please let us know – we would be glad to have you!  To do this, contact Mark & Kathy Hassenpflug or Lynn Breeze to discuss details or signup.
