RAYMOND BAPTIST CHURCH NOTES

Month of December ~ Advent Series: “Choose Joy”

12/08/19:- Second Sunday of Advent – “When Joy Leaves the Room?” The holiday season is hard for many. Life can be overwhelming, especially for those who have suffered loss. God’s real and personal presence is an antidote to the suffering we face, and give a lifeline for our joy. (Isaiah 49:8-18).

ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL:  Please join us. Phil & Jen Wilson  of AMG International, Guatemala will be visiting on December 8th.  Please join the Adult Sunday School at 9:00am in the Great Room for a Missions Update.

CARE PACKAGE MINISTRY: Fall care packages are being sent out before Christmas to college age young adults and military. Please let Marion know if any addresses have changed and if available the new addresses for the care packages to be shipped to.  Also if there are college students or Military you would like to add to our Prayer Request and send a care package to please provide the name, school/branch of Military and address information. Thanks.  Care Package goodies need to be back this Sunday. There are still several cards still left so please let Tami or Michael Cole know if anyone can help out with what items are still needed.

THE CHRISTMAS DRAMA IS COMING QUICKLY!  Donna Burgess is looking for people to help out with refreshments. If you can bake, we are looking for several people to bake cookies. There will be 3 performances-Friday, December 13 at 7 PM, Saturday December 14 at 7 PM, and Sunday, December 15 at 2 PM. It would be ideal to have 3 separate trays with a couple dozen on each tray-one for each performance.  If baking isn’t for you, then maybe you could bring crackers and cheese. Or you could purchase 2 liter bottles of Sprite or raspberry sherbet for punch.   She would ask that the refreshments be there prior to 5:30 on Friday so that the refreshments can be ready by 6:30 before guests arrive.  If you would like to help serve(coffee, punch) at any of the performances let Donna Burgess know.  Please email her back at (edndonnaburgess@comcast.net) if you can help and let her know what you are providing.  Thanks in advance!

CHRISTMAS DRAMA: It’s that time again for our annual Free Christmas Drama, our gift to the community. He remembers past Christmases with its happiness and love. He then spots a shop sign that reads “We Rent Anything”. He has an idea and he enters into the shop. Come and find out what John Dale decides to do…There are tickets available to hand out to friends, family and people you don’t know yet. Pick up your tickets today at the Welcome Center.
