RAYMOND BAPTIST CHURCH NOTES
Praise: This week, in cooperation with Raymond Coalition for Youth we were able to provide space for training for those looking to become Recovery Coaches for those looking for help in their addiction recoveries. There are now 40 new people trained to help those in crisis. Praise God he has given us facilities with which we can share, and a desire to share, and help our communities..
Last November the church membership voted to move ahead with the sale of the church parsonage. The property listed this month and within 72 hours we had 24 showings and 12 offers. The parsonage team reviewed the offers and accepted one. We should look at a closing date within the next two weeks. Praise God for the timing of all this. Pray for final details.
Prayer: This month the elders voted to move ahead with the next steps in determining God’s plans for our land. We have sent out requests for bids on the Parking Lot Expansion project we have been talking about for two years. We are facing a deadline of this June to either start the project, or face additional costs in re-permitting if we decide to wait. Pray for clarity, God’s timing on this project and direction on this project.
FLU SEASON: As everyone is well aware, we are in the middle of a severe flu season. There are many who are affected. We have attendees who are especially susceptible- people with compromised immune system, some elderly and our children. While we appreciate everyone’s desire to be in worship and participating in the life of the church, we would ask during this time that we would all use great wisdom with our own health to determine whether we should be around others. If you are ill, or have been ill recently please use good judgment regarding your exposure to others. Hand sanitizer stations are available around the church for your convenience as well. Sunday services are available through our church app and are posted early in the week. Videos of service are available on Channel 22 in Raymond. Be in prayer for many who are struggling through this winter season, and thank everyone for watching out for the health of all
Sanctity of Life Our church is participating in the baby bottle benefit to help support the CareNet Pregnancy Center. Pick up a bottle after church from Wanda Molligi and fill it with your spare change or bills. Baby Bottles will be due back by February 17th.
Winter Sermon Series- “The Forgotten God” Pastor Francis Chan in his book, “The Forgotten God” presents the case that many churches, even if they would not say it’s true, have forgotten God in their worship and practice by neglecting the person and practice of the Holy Spirit. Is this true for each of us? Could this be said about our church? Do we live and minister in such comfort that we have eliminated the need of God’s Spirit? Would we even notice His absence?
2/3- “What’s In It For Me?” James 4:1-3

Mitzi Horne, one of our friends and a workshop leader from Berea, is our guest speaker this month. Come hear her special message for us, Beloved, Be Loved!
THANK YOU: We received a letter from Rockingham County Department of Corrections dated January 27, 2019:
Dear Friends, On behalf of the inmates at the Rockingham County Department of Corrections we are very grateful for your acts of kindness. God says, “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me” (Matthew 25:35-36). Your response to our Christmas appeal for games and financial support has been overwhelming. With your help we are able to provide a message that each inmate is valuable in the eyes of our loving grace God and that your gift will bring them and our Lord a smile. May God bless. Serving on the victory side, Rev. Kent Threlfall, Chaplain.
