RAYMOND BAPTIST CHURCH NOTES

DAYLIGHT SAVINGS: Remember to set your clocks ahead an hour Saturday night, March 9th.

INFORMATIONAL MEETING: All are encouraged to attend an Informational Meeting on Thursday March 14th  at 7:00pm in the Sanctuary to present the proposal of the Land Development/Parking Lot  and address any questions you might have. Please be in prayer as we take this next step in our ministry development. All members are urged to attend, all are welcome

MINISTRY CLUSTER MEETING:  our next Cluster Meeting will be Wednesday, March 20th at 7pm in the Great Room. A representative from each ministry should be represented.  Volunteers and anyone wishing to attend are welcome.

BUSINESS MEETING: A Special Business Meeting for members is called for Thursday March 21st at 7:00pm in the Sanctuary to act upon a joint recommendation from the Elders, Finance and Trustee teams to move ahead with the completion of the Land Development/Parking Lot project this spring. All members are urged to attend, all are welcome.

MEN’S BREAKFAST: Mark your calendars for the next Men’s Breakfast on Saturday, March 23rd  at 7:30-9:00am.  Join us as it will be a great morning.

Prayer: This month the elders voted to move ahead with the next steps in determining God’s plans for our land. We have sent out requests for bids on the Parking Lot Expansion project we have been talking about for two years. We are facing a deadline of this June to either start the project, or face additional costs in re-permitting if we decide to wait. Pray for clarity, God’s timing on this project and direction on this project.

FLU SEASON: As everyone is well aware, we are in the middle of a severe flu season. There are many who are affected.  We have attendees who are especially susceptible- people with compromised immune system, some elderly and our children. While we appreciate everyone’s desire to be in worship and participating in the life of the church, we would ask during this time that we would all use great wisdom with our own health to determine whether we should be around others. If you are ill, or have been ill recently please use good judgment regarding your exposure to others. Hand sanitizer stations are available around the church for your convenience as well. Sunday services are available through our church app and are posted early in the week. Videos of service are available on Channel 22 in Raymond.  Be in prayer for many who are struggling through this winter season, and thank everyone for watching out for the health of all

April/May/Lent Sermon Series- “Jesus’ Inside Friends”

So often when we talk about “the friends of Jesus” we are most likely to focus on the apostles, Peter, Paul, those who as Jesus says, “you are my friends if you do what I command you.” What about the people that Jesus seemed to welcome in and with whom he invited in the broken, bruised, unwanted or unwelcomed.  Do these describe our friends?

3/3- New Series “Jesus’ Inside Friends” this week “Jesus’ Outcast Friends (Simon the Leper)” Luke 5:12-15

MEMBERSHIP CLASS: Are you new or just want to know more about RBC and membership, what we believe and how things work here or interested in becoming a member? We are still in the process of coordinating a membership class so if anyone is interested there is still some time to call, email the Office or Sign up at the Welcome Center

NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER, May 2ndWe would like to ask you, to pray and seek God’s wisdom to help you remember a time in your life when you struggled with a question, a problem, or a situation. A time when God showed up, spoke to you, and things changed.  Then to write a short devotional about it.  A sort of a Raymond version of the Daily Bread. Raymond’s’ real people, with real stories and problems,  seeking guidance from a real God.   Your stories might even come from your own journals.

In life we all hurt and often don’t understand our journey.   As we spend time with each other, and share our stories we create connections.  These connections allow us the opportunity to say that there is an awesome, powerful, loving, wise God just waiting to welcome us all home.

We ask you to keep your devotional to under 200 words, contain the scripture that spoke to you, and follow this simple outline:

  1. State your situation/problem/question
  2. State how God spoke to you, and the scripture He used
  3. State how this encounter with a living God changed you, your outcome, your actions or your direction

We would like to share these devotion with our guests the morning of NDP breakfast on May 2nd. If we get enough, we would put them into a booklet for our guests to take with them.  Devotions will be printed using first names, or anonymous upon request.   Please submit these devotions by email to Marion by April 1st   Thank you so much for partnering with us in this ministry to love our community to Christ.   RBC TEAM IS HEADING TO UGANDA! April 20th – May 4th. Please stand with us through prayer and giving. Pray that this will result in long-term commitment to engage with the impoverished both at home and around the world. Giving may be done simply by dropping a check in the offering plate with Uganda Trip on the memo line or online at https://secure.qgiv.com/event/childvoicetrip/. Thank you for your support!  RBC Uganda Missions Team: Mike and Sandy Unger, Leah & Abby; Carolyn and Mark Baldwin, Paulette Duclair, Sarah Burgess, Paula Chouinard.     UGANDA MISSION TRIP INFORMATION AND UPDATES:   Praise:
