RBC Weekly Newsletter (1/14/22)

THIS WEEK: 01/16/2022 ~ “Be Careful What You Wish For”- Exodus 32:1-14

After a miraculous deliverance from Egypt, the people of God asked for a god they could handle. What they got; they couldn’t handle.

NEXT WEEK: 01/23/2022 ~ “At the Heart of Worship”- Exodus 40:1-23

“Worship is….” Ask a variety of people, and you will probably get a variety of answers. In our individualistic culture we want “designer worship”- worship that fits me. In Exodus, God reminds people that true worship is not about them, but about Him. He alone is the center of our worship.

NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER is on May 5, 2022. As part of our participation we typically provide breakfast for all our town employees, including the Police and Firefighters in recognition of all they do for our community.  We are not sure how we will need to do this this year due to Covid-19 restrictions, if any at that time, but we need to start the planning on this event early, we are open to suggestions but we are asking for volunteers at this time to help with this.  Please give the office a call if you would/could help with this. If you would like additional information or you have questions, please do not hesitate to give us a call to discuss.

Over these past 18 months, God has been gracious to us as a church as we have tried to carefully walk through the pandemic. That deserves our praise.

As we are all aware the rise of COVID cases is again spreading through our communities. We are all hearing, experiencing more people in our personal lives who are now having to deal with this virus. We are now having more reports of people within our church community wrestling with this as well. As a church we have done well and do not want to step backwards at this point. So, in light of our current environment, please consider the following for this next period of time this winter.

  1. PLEASE be in prayer for those who are struggling with this disease, and for those who are now hospitalized in our communities, and from our church family.
  2. PLEASE be aware of the needs that people may now have as they may need help with transportation, care, food etc. as people may need to isolate from work and life as they struggle.
  3. PLEASE, if you have been in contact with someone who has tested positive, PLEASE follow all current CDC guidelines for isolation, testing and masking before returning to public worship. PLEASE be responsible for contacting any with whom you may have had contact.
  4. PLEASE, for the safety of others around you, be mindful of our current policy on masks while attending church functions. This is not just limited to Sunday worship, but any church activities.

We have, and we can continue to help each other through these days. Thank you to all who have supported our efforts.

Watch for our new website coming in 2022, with a fresh new look and better functionality.  You will be notified via email when this site goes live and you will be given the opportunity to access the online church directory.” Stay tuned!

THIS WEEK’S MINISTRY HIGHLIGHT ~ Women’s Ministry

(If you would like more information or would like to volunteer in this Ministry, please call the Office, we would love to talk to you).

We pray especially for those you’ve called into ministry, to be leaders, teachers, discipleship and friends in our church and community. Keep God’s word fresh in their hearts, renewing and refreshing their spirit for their work ahead. May they seek your counsel daily, give them godly wisdom day by day as they tackle their designated ministry work and guide them as they give spiritual guidance to others around them… Amen.

The Women’s Ministry exists to provide situations for women to connect on a spiritual level with God and other women. This focuses on outreach, but leaves opportunities to feed and encourage our “core group” in various events.

(We currently do not have a Ministry Leader for this Ministry and it is an open ministry – Interested?)
