THIS WEEK: 01/09/2022 ~ “A Time to Pray” (Zechariah 8:20-23).

NEXT WEEK: 01/16/2022 ~ Be Careful What You Wish For”- Exodus 32:1-14

After a miraculous deliverance from Egypt, the people of God asked for a god they could handle. What they got; they couldn’t handle.

dividerOver these past 18 months, God has been gracious to us as a church as we have tried to carefully walk through the pandemic. That deserves our praise.

As we are all aware the rise of COVID cases is again spreading through our communities. We are all hearing, experiencing more people in our personal lives who are now having to deal with this virus. We are now having more reports of people within our church community wrestling with this as well. As a church we have done well and do not want to step backwards at this point. So, in light of our current environment, please consider the following for this next period of time this winter.

  1. PLEASE be in prayer for those who are struggling with this disease, and for those who are now hospitalized in our communities, and from our church family.
  2. PLEASE be aware of the needs that people may now have as they may need help with transportation, care, food etc. as people may need to isolate from work and life as they struggle.
  3. PLEASE, if you have been in contact with someone who has tested positive, PLEASE follow all current CDC guidelines for isolation, testing and masking before returning to public worship. PLEASE be responsible for contacting any with whom you may have had contact.
  4. PLEASE, for the safety of others around you, be mindful of our current policy on masks while attending church functions. This is not just limited to Sunday worship, but any church activities.

We have, and we can continue to help each other through these days. Thank you to all who have supported our efforts.

Baptism: Christian baptism is the immersion of a believer in water in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. It is an act of obedience symbolizing the believer’s faith in a crucified, buried, and risen Savior, and a public declaration to follow Jesus and to walk in newness of life in Christ Jesus. It is a testimony to a person’s faith in the final resurrection of the dead. It is prerequisite for us for full church membership church membership.

At RBC, we wait until our children are old enough to believe and understand the true meaning of baptism before we baptize them. However, we welcome families who would like to have their children dedicated where parents make promises for themselves and family, and our church makes promises to raise the child to learn about Christ and be a disciple. For more information or have any questions please contact Pastor Kevin or the office.

We currently have some baptisms scheduled in early February so if you are interested in being baptized please contact Pastor Kevin or the office.

BACKGROUND CHECKS will be done in the Foyer on January 23rd before service. For all volunteers who work with the children, regardless of the program(s) please see Marion Guay for a Background Check Form that needs to be filled out and processed.  Background Checks are recommended to be redone periodically and at the least every 3 years to comply with the laws of the State.  Unfortunately, due to recordkeeping required we cannot accept background checks that were done by another company/firm/school.  There are Forms available at the Welcome Center.  Please fill out and return to Marion. (Marion can notarize them if needed).

(If you would like more information or would like to volunteer in this Ministry, please see the Interim Ministry Leader, Ed Burgess would love to talk to you).

We pray especially for those you’ve called into ministry, to be leaders, teachers, discipleship and friends in our church and community. Keep God’s word fresh in their hearts, renewing and refreshing their spirit for their work ahead. May they seek your counsel daily, give them godly wisdom day by day as they tackle their designated ministry work and guide them as they give spiritual guidance to others around them… Amen.

Help is needed! If you enjoy working with computers, sound systems, cameras, and/or Proclaim, your help is needed. Time commitment is limited to Sunday mornings and Tuesday practice (for Sound person) on a rotating basis. No experience necessary as we will train you.
