RAYMOND BAPTIST CHURCH NOTES

Sunday is Communion Sunday. Following Sunday’s service, there will be an additional offering plate or you can contribute on-line for the Deacon’s Fund which is used to help people in our community.

The RBC Gardens have been beautiful this year, hope many of you had an opportunity to enjoy them.  It is now that time of year for Fall clean up! Please join the RBC garden crew Saturday October 10th from 8 -11 AM for some great fellowship as we work together putting the gardens to bed for the Winter! If you have any questions, please call Kathy Hassenpflug at 603-706 -3544.

For anyone interested there will be a get together in the parking lot on October 18th, after service to have a fellowship lunch together in the parking lot after church on that Sunday. Everyone please bring their own lunch, chair and masks. Weather permitting.

Thank You Jesus! We are working on a Video for Thanksgiving Sunday service and we loved to hear from you! Please send in A quick email or video sharing (in one or two sentences) one thing you are thankful for. You can send your responses to rbcbeingthechurch@gmail.com “Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever.” Psalm 107:1

The elders who direct the affairs of the church well are worthy of double honor, especially those whose work is preaching and teaching” (1 Timothy 5:17).

This is Clergy Appreciation Month and we want to say “Thank You” to Pastor Kevin and the Elders. We know that leading and counseling, teaching and encouraging can be tough work (especially in these days). So we just wanted to say Thank you. We appreciate all you do to shine the light in a dark world and all you do to give hope and encouragement to all.

Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these…(Matthew 19:13-14)

A special thank you to Matt Chouinard and Tara Swist for their service, sacrifice, and love of children. Both your work is a gift of God’s grace to the Church.

DAYLIGHT SAVINGS – FALL BACK: Remember to set your clocks back an hour Saturday night, October 31st. Mark your calendars!

Happy Fall and we are glad for all who have returned and for all who are watching online or on Channel 13.  Service time is 10:30am. We want to thank everyone for their understanding as we have adapted our worship amidst the ongoing COVID19 chapter. This is a kind reminder that for safety of all of our attendees that please on Sundays wait to be seated before service by an Usher once you have checked in, as well as being escorted from your seat after the service has ended and that masks are required.  Please feel free after service to chat in the parking lot, maintaining socially distanced but due to the check-in process and procedures currently in place please do not meet or gather together in the Foyer. Enjoy the beautiful Fall weather and take advantage of the prayer garden to pray or meet with someone. Continue to pray with us as we learn how to best be the church in changing times.

I want to thank those who were able to attend our Annual Meeting last week, and those who joined via Zoom. Here are a few quick updates for all.

  1. Amidst all the interruptions these past six months caused by the pandemic, the church finished the year financially “in the black.” We did so because of the faithfulness of God, God’s people believing in this ministry, showing their support and the great stewardship of ministries.

  1. We were also able to welcome in three new members, Terry Austrew and Ron and Donna Zabloudil.

  1. We also voted in some new people to office; Mike Chouinard is our new Moderator. Mike also joins Ed Burgess to our Board of Elders. Our current Board now stands as Scott Osterhuber- Chair, Ted Whitten, Mark Baldwin, Jim Belknap, Mike Chouinard, and Ed Burgess. Please be in prayer for this team, and the staff as together we lead the church forward.

  1. For anyone who was not at the Annual Meeting, copies of the Annual Report and Financial Statements are available from the church office.

Just a note for all of us. As we move forward through the months ahead, we will still be trying to discover how to do ministry as this pandemic will still be with us for the foreseeable future. This has been hard for many. May we be people of great patience, flexibility, grace and prayer with each other as we try to plot a course forward as we monitor community conditions. We live by faith, but also by wisdom that God provides.

As a church, let us be in prayer as we continue to work to advance the mission God has called us to- the intentional proclamation of the gospel and the advancement of His kingdom by making mature disciples of Jesus. Let us do with great reliance upon God, grace towards each other, and commitment to His mission for us.

As I finish 15 years here this month, I look forward to what can happen as we serve together.
