RAYMOND BAPTIST CHURCH NOTES

We are rejoicing that Raymond Baptist Church is celebrating another anniversary!! 71 years on April 18th! It has been so encouraging to see our church grow over the years. Through all the ups and downs, God has been faithful. Special thanks to our congregation, ministries, members and communities for all that they do to help bring Jesus, encouragement and help into the lives of many.

As we have all seen in the news, the state is dropping its mandatory mask mandate as of today, but still keeping it as a recommendation for best policy. As this pandemic has progressed, changes have been expected in recommendations, and the leadership has been careful in examining those changes and recommendations from the CDC and the state. As we progress through time we will continue to be alert to changes, and the upcoming recommendations on May 7th from the “Safer at Home” guidance. If you would like offer any helpful input for the Board, please feel free to drop a note to the church office.

The Board of Elders welcome all comments and questions regarding the workings, policies, goals, moving forward, etc. of the Church and would love to have a discussion with you.  If you would like to contact any of the Elders the following are the email addresses for all. They look forward to answering any and all questions, praying with and for you and having a discussion. Please contact them, they would love to hear from you.

THIS WEEK: 04/18/2021: ~ “Teen Challenge”

NEXT WEEK04/25/2021: ~ “It All Starts Here” – (1 Peter 1:1-9) Foundation God Has Given Us to Endure

STORIES STILL NEEDED: After Easter the main teaching theme for Sunday mornings will be “The God Who Gives Second Chances,” we will be using Peter’s writings to see how God gave him, and us second chances to be used. If you have a story about how God gave you a second chance in life and are willing to share it, let the Office or Pastor Kevin know.

Amateur Artists! Expression and creativity await you starting Saturday, April 24th from 12 noon for a couple of hours at the church Great Room (or outdoors), rain or shine. No judgment zone! Crayons and paper provided or bring your own supplies. Mask and social distancing required. Remember: An Amateur is one “who engages in a pursuit as a pastime rather than a profession “. Allow yourself the freedom to express yourself.  If anyone has any questions please send Terry Austrew an email at taustrew@gmail.com or give the Office a call.

Leading up to NDP, we would like to bath the community in prayer to pave the way for revival in our town by encouraging our church family to form neighborhood/town walking prayer groups to pray for families as you pass by each home.   We would love to hear back if anyone starts a walking prayer group in their neighborhood.

POSITIVITY STILL NEEDED: We are compiling a booklet for National Day of Prayer titled “New Appreciation for Life’s Simpler Joys and Hopes learned from the COVID-19 Pandemic”. We are hoping this booklet will provide the community some positivity and hope. There is always something positive that comes out of a negative.  If you could send to the office a brief sentence or paragraph stating something positive that came out of Covid-19 in your family, community or friends please let us know.  Thank you in advance for your comments. You can email them to marion@raymondbaptistchurch.com
