RAYMOND BAPTIST CHURCH NOTES

From Pastor Kevin: Summer is quickly slipping by! I want to thank everyone for their understanding as we have adapted our worship amidst the ongoing COVID19 chapter. Thanks to all those who have come out for worship, and to all those who continue to watch on-line. I know that for each of us the current worship format is not ideal. When the leadership team implemented this plan for the summer, we did so through after a tremendous amount prayer, research and consultation with both church and medical professionals and paying close attention to guidance being given at the time by state and federal agencies. We did so with the desire to best protect the greatest number of people, especially the most vulnerable. While it may not be ideal to some, it is a gift to others. It has been with the mindset of looking out for others. Thanks to all who understand this. As this month goes on the leadership will be re-evaluating what we are doing in light of current guidance and conditions of our communities and see what will be the best practices for us, and our ministries moving forward into the fall.

This has been a good time to be reminded that if our own personal source of worship and fellowship is confined to only Sunday mornings then we miss out on all the richness we can have. Take advantage of this time to gather in smaller groups, socially distancing outside. Get together, walk, hike, pray, read scripture, worship in small gatherings. That was the pattern of the early church we can rediscover and from which we can learn and benefit. On Sundays feel free to chat in the parking lot after service, maintaining socially distance. Take advantage of the prayer garden to pray with someone (Do you know where it is?). Continue to pray with us as we learn how to best be the church in changing times.

Change is hard, but change helps us grow. Right now we are all learning how to do that.

Thanks, and stay tuned for more updates as we move forward. Thanks to all who have helped us through this time by their actions, prayers and attitudes this summer.

THIS SUNDAY ~ (ALL POLICIES AND PROCEDURES STILL REMAIN IN EFFECT)

This Sunday and for the remainder of the summer, our Facebook Live Stream will be at 9:00am and not 10:30.

Reminders for arrival on Sunday“If you need to be dropped off at the door for health reasons, or may need extra time to be seated, please arrive at 8:30. All others will be admitted to the church starting at 8:45. Please maintain your social distancing outside at 8:45 as delineated by the pavement markers until the doors are open.”

Regarding Sundays all are welcome but for those who are not feeling well, have a temperature, or are not ready at this time, or are unable to attend for any reason, we will continue serving you through our Facebook Live broadcast, and the local Raymond Town Channel 13 from which you can watch and worship at home or wherever you may be during the week.

Because our priority is to ensure a safe and reliable return to Sunday Morning Worship, please note, until further notice all church buildings will remain closed to any group meetings regardless of size. This will help to ensure any cleaning processes that will be in place during the week will not be compromised and potentially inhibit our gathering on Sunday. We will continue to monitor this throughout the summer.

If you choose to come in person on Sunday, the following safety guidelines will be in effect. You may agree or disagree with the plan in place, that is your prerogative. You may voice your thoughts to the elders, names are listed below. Please do not plan on attending if you are unwilling to abide with the policies we will have in place. Sunday at the door is not the time to have that discussion, or make a point, but do so now. Again, we feel this plan is in the best interest of our entire community- regardless of personal opinion. We all pray that these guidelines will be short-term and can be relaxed as the pandemic eases locally and worldwide, however we reserve the right to reset guidelines if community conditions change. This will be a process of return for all of us.
