Fighting Back Against Doubt (Sermon 6/16/19)
Doubt can creep into anyone’s life at any time. Doubt can isolate you and cripple you. Doubt can make you feel like you are watching the world through a window and no one can see you. There are practical steps you can take to help each of us on the journey from doubt to belief again.

    God? (Sermon 6/09/19)
“The factual premise of religion, is untenable. God almost certainly does not exist.” (Richard Dawkins) “The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by human hands.” (Apostle Paul)
    • Who is right and how can you know for sure?

The Doubt of Science (Sermon 6/2/19)
“Science without faith is lame. Faith without science is blind”- Einstein
“The God of the Bible is also the God of the genome. He can be worshiped in the cathedral or the laboratory”- Francis Collins
“Men became scientific because they expected law in nature and they expected law in nature because they believed in a legislator.” – C.S. Lewis

For many science and faith are polar opposites. One cannot exist in the presence of the other. When one is threatened, doubt can creep in. How do I view the relationship between faith and science?

The Doubt of Silence (Sermon 5/26/19)
You call, you text, you leave a note and you wait, and no answer comes. You try again, and you get frustrated. You try another method of communicating, and still get no answer. Now you begin to get frustrated and even angry. After a while, you may even stop trying to communicate and you walk away doubting, or rebelling. Have you ever experienced that with God?

The Doubt of Pain (Sermon 5/19/19)
Reading the headlines any day of our world or our lives could cause someone to doubt the existence, or the attention of God. How can we answer when answers seem so far away? Question- “Can you recall a time when you or a friend experienced suffering or pain? How did you respond?”

The Doubt of Scripture (Sermon 5/12/19)
Everyone has a final authority, a “The Buck Stops Here” foundation, for his or her life. For some it is his/her experiences. For others it is his/her own beliefs. Others will claim they have no authority and want none. As Christ followers we claim our final authority is the written testimony of Scripture. How confident are we in its reliability, and do we begin to doubt when its truth is challenged?

The Shockwave of Doubt (Sermon 5/5/19)
Most people struggle with doubt at some point in their lives. The doubt can be simple, or the doubt can be overwhelming. Barna poll of 2018 estimates that 70% of high schools students will have walked away from their faith by the time they graduate. When doubt challenges our faith, it can be devastating. As a Christ follower, is doubt ok? What causes my doubt? When doubt comes, do I allow my doubt to drive me from God, or towards him?

Interview with Raymond Town Manager Joe Isley.  Prayer for our leaders, even the ones we do not like, is essential for peace and unity. On this Sunday before the “National Day of Prayer,” what would God have me know, do, and pray?

    Jesus’ Doubting Friends (Sermon 4/21/19)
Flowers, a riot of colors, the joy of spring and new beginnings- flood our senses at Easter. Many celebrate the unofficial ending of winter and new life seen growing from the ground. Others celebrate and rehearse the core of their faith- the truth of the resurrection of Jesus, the Son of God. Still others live in a closet of doubt that any of this is true.  Can I doubt and still be a “Friend of Jesus?”
