OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD SHOEBOXESNow is a good time to pick up some supplies for your Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes.   With the low prices for back to school on crayons, note books, pens, whatever you want to include.  If you want to pick up extra, that is wonderful.  As we do a packing party to fill shoeboxes with goods purchased during the year.  We love any donations to help fill boxes.  Also, be checking out the Mark downs for great deals.  We have found silly toys marked as low as .10 cents that can go into a shoebox.  These shoeboxes are a way to show God’s love to a child that feels lost and alone.  Not only does the child get a shoebox, but they get love and hope.  This shoebox is the opportunity for others to let the children know about Jesus.  Many of these children in turn teach their families about Jesus.  Many accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior.  What an impact you can make on lives with a simple shoebox. Michelle has included a link to Samaritans purse for helpful tips, stories, and further in depth information about OCC. RAYMOND BAPTIST CHURCH NOTES

Fall Series: “Life’s Dramas” ~ Shakespeare wrote, “All the world’s a stage and all the men and women merely players.” We each live in, and participate in the drama of life. We all walk through different acts, different scenes with a changing cast of characters. This fall, with God as our director, we will explore the drama play of our lives.

9/08/19: “The Drama of Conflict” 2 Chronicles 20:1-17 ~ “Choose your battles” is a widely given piece of advice. Many times there is great wisdom in that idea. But what happens when you can’t choose? What happens when a battle, a conflict is thrust upon you? Do we choose to fight, or run when we find ourselves in a conflict not of our making, or choosing? Today we will God’s advice from the life of King Jehoshaphat how to respond when we are suddenly overwhelmed by the events of life”

MINISTRY(IES) INFORMATION

(Operation Christmas Child 2018 Special Report https://sampur.se/2Gb4UXVIf you have any questions please feel free to contact Michelle Osterhuber.  Michelle also store the extra goods for the shoeboxes until we pack them in November.

SONSHINE COMMUNITY TABLE: We have had consistent numbers at the Sonshine Community Table over the past year(s), which is a blessing, but with Fall fast approaching we find that we need many more helpers. Do you have an hour and a half  of time to spare on every other Monday night?  Two teams that rotate every other week are compiled of 35+ volunteers to shop, prepare, cook, set up, serve and clean.  If you are interested in helping out on a regular basis or as needed, please let us know – we would be glad to have you!  To do this, contact Mark & Kathy Hassenpflug or Lynn Breeze to discuss details or signup.

MISCELLANEOUS:

The air conditioning is set at 70 degrees for Sunday’s Service due to the unusually warm days we have been experiencing, and not knowing ahead of time what God is going to bring us on a beautiful Sunday morning and based on the number of people in attendance it may seem to be colder or warmer than normal, while we try to set it accordingly sometimes nature throws us a surprise so to be prepared for anything please if anyone has a tendency to get chilled we would suggest bringing a sweater with you if needed just in case, until the weather evens out and Fall approaches.  Thank you to all for your understanding as we go through this crazy weather together. Happy Summer J.

MISCELLANEOUS:

The air conditioning is set at 70 degrees for Sunday’s Service due to the unusually warm days we have been experiencing. Not knowing ahead of time what God is going to bring us on a beautiful Sunday morning and based on the number of people in attendance, it may seem to be colder or warmer than normal. While we try to set it accordingly, sometimes nature throws us a surprise. So to be prepared for anything, please, if anyone has a tendency to get chilled, we would suggest bringing a sweater with you if needed just in case until the weather evens out and fall approaches.  Thank you to all for your understanding as we go through this crazy weather together. Happy Summer!
