RBC Weekly Newsletter (1/21/22)

THIS WEEK: 01/23/2022 ~ “At the Heart of Worship”- Exodus 40:1-23

“Worship is….” Ask a variety of people, and you will probably get a variety of answers. In our individualistic culture we want “designer worship”- worship that fits me. In Exodus, God reminds people that true worship is not about them, but about Him. He alone is the center of our worship.

NEXT WEEK: 01/30/2022 ~ “The Cost of Worship”- Leviticus 6:8-30

We all have received offers with the incentive, “No cost or obligation.” We like our worship the same. God says differently. True worship involves sacrifice on our part- a giving, humbling of ourselves before and to God.

BACKGROUND CHECKS will be done in the Foyer on January 23rd before service. For all volunteers who work with the children, regardless of the program(s) please see Marion Guay for a Background Check Form that needs to be filled out and processed.  Background Checks are recommended to be redone periodically and at the least every 3 years to comply with the laws of the State.  Unfortunately, due to recordkeeping required we cannot accept background checks that were done by another company/firm/school.  There are Forms available at the Welcome Center.  Please fill out and return to Marion. (Marion can notarize them if needed).

THIS WEEK’S MINISTRY HIGHLIGHT ~ Youth Group

(If you would like more information or would like to volunteer in this Ministry please see one of the Ministry Leaders, they would love to talk to you)

We pray especially for those you’ve called into ministry, to be leaders, teachers, discipleship and friends in our church and community. Keep God’s word fresh in their hearts, renewing and refreshing their spirit for their work ahead. May they seek your counsel daily, give them godly wisdom day by day as they tackle their designated ministry work and guide them as they give spiritual guidance to others around them… Amen.

Mission: “Impact Teens to Impact the World”

We offer a program for teens grades 5-12 who are committed to Christ and want to get their friends hooked up with Christ too.

The goal of this team is to worship God, explore His Word (the Bible), grow stronger roots in our faith, and plan our strategy for getting the word out to our friends and neighbors.

Every other week we practice what we preach by going into our communities and inviting our friends and neighbors.

YOUTH GROUP SCHEDULE: Sunday’s 5:00 – 6:30 pm, Ministry Center

To Teach and Disciple: We want to develop authentic Christ followers. (Matthew 28:19-20) Service: We are committed to serving each other as well as the community around us. (Galatians 5:13) Building Relationships Teen Extreme Outreach: We are committed to reaching out to share the love of God with other teens. (Mark 16:15) Being an Example: We as leaders are committed to being an example to our teens so that they can be an example in their communities. (1 Corinthians 11:1).

YARN NEEDED: Barbara Wagner from the Ray-Fre Senior Center is asking for yarn. They have a small group of women that crochet hats to give to veterans, homeless, low income people and children through New Hampshire. Last year, over 1900 hats were made and donated by the group.  The cost of yarn and low donations have before a problem for the group. If anyone has yarn that they no longer use or yarn leftover from projects, it would be greatly appreciated if you could donate it to the Ray-Fre Senior Center Crochet & Knitting group. Donations can be dropped off at the Center 64 Main Street, Raymond (across the street from Long Branch Restaurant).
